As my friend said, the first two goals of a Minimum Viable Product (MVP) is:

1000 downloads & 1 Paid Customer

If these criteria's are met, your product could be successful.

We developed an android app called Tcamera (Teacher’s Camera) which we thought would be useful for the wonderful teachers out there. Nice idea, but how to achieve the goals? Not easy, isn’t it? 😟

Well, we made it happen within 2 weeks. How? Read on….

List your app on some of the Apps Gone Free Apps. Let me explain. There are apps on Play store who list paid apps which are available free for a limited time.

From Google Play Store

Before I approach these apps, I made our app Paid and then configured it as free for a limited time. This is required because such apps do not list free apps. Steps are given at: https://support.google.com/googleplay/android-developer/answer/7271135?hl=en

Once the app sale was configured, I wrote to the following app providers to list my app.

AppSales, info@app-sales.net

Paid Apps Free, arvind.bhanuali@gmail.com

FreeAppsNow, ‘tourbillonapps@gmail.com

myAppFree, support@myappfree.com

Paid Apps Gone Free — PAGF (Beta), chikisoftworks@gmail.com

With a little follow up, some of the apps listed our app.

Guess what, in just couple of days, I started seeing hits to my website and app from all across the globe 🆒

The number kept growing and growing. It was now time to reply to the positive and negative reviews, and fine tune the app. More satisfied users, more market 😃

Within a week, the sale ended, and the hits started going down. However, the first goal was achieved. 2500+ active users. 👍

Time to celebrate? Wait…what about our 2nd goal?

Just 2 days after that, we got our first paid customer. Let the celebrations begin. 😇

The start is good, but we have to go a long way. Time to do some paid marketing now? What say? 😉
